1. Ceramic Non-stick DURABILITY
Test Item
Test Method
1.10 Overall Non-stick Durability Assessment
Assess the coating properties and performance according to the following.
a) Change in Release Grade between 1.1 and 1.9. Pass means Release grade remain at ≥ Grade 3.
b) Damage or other Visual Changes to the coating and at which step these happened. Pass means no physical damage and no more than very slight discoloration.
2. Film Properties
Test Item
Test Method
2.4 Scratch Resistance Test
Carry out procedure as per BS7069 : 1988. A Stylus with nominal 1 mm diameter is used. Initial force is 5 N. If no exposure of substrate, then repeat with a higher force in increments of 1 N until there is substrate exposure. Pass means a force of > 5 N without substrate exposure.
3. Dishwasher Resistance
Test Item
Test Method
Diswasher Resistance
a) Assess initial release by fried egg test (Test 1.1).
b) Carry out 10 Dishwasher cycles as per EN12875-1:1998. Then check for coating defects.
c) Carry out Fried Egg Test (twice).
Repeat b) and c) above until a total of 120 dishwasher cycles have been completed or the release properties have been reduced to below Grade 3 (Fair), whichever is the sooner.
Pass means no visual change/damage to coating and release properties remain ≥ Grade 3 after 120 cycles. Below Grade 3 after 120 cycles is a Fail.
